When I bough my FL250 it allready had and electric start system installed on it. With these aftermarket starter systems, will the Odyssey's electrical system charge the battery or is that something I will have to do?

I could be wrong but i believe you will have to manually charge the battery.The ouput of the stock winding wont be enough to handle that task.Is it CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) or points ?
With a trickle charger at 2 amps and a good battery nightly or before a ride should be fine.another alternative might be to get a good portable battery pack and take it along.
oldmanody or ody-stable might have some other ideas too.

I have never done anything other than install the diode that comes with the kit. I ran the first one I did without the diode for a year though and a fully charged battery easily made it through a three day weekend and that's at least 30-40 starts.

I was planning on upgrading the systems with this (can't remember who posted this).

Radioshack parts:
1x Full Wave Bridge Rectifier / 50V 25A / PN# 276-1185 /Price: 3.29
1x Electrolytic Capacitor / 4700uf 35WVDC / PN# 272-1022 / Price: 5.29
