Hi Everyone! Just been crazy busy for a very long time... finally home for a year and lots to do... starting with the first of many big bore Engine installs. This one has the KX500 intake and exhaust graphs, super BN carb, and tuned exhaust. I expect 70+ HP,maybe more...she should flow well! LOL

Not to hijack your thread but......
I picked this up, FL400 top end, cool head, with this intake welded to it..
Seen anything like this before?
It is setup for a watercraft carb.

Interesting. Why the watercraft carb?

Is that a Buckshot carb? 44, 46 or 48mm?

Going by memory that is not a KX cylinder its a Honda cylinder with a Kawisucki intake and exhaust welded on then a new sleeve installed so it can run the KX 500 piston, with the stroke its less than 500cc but revs really well, think Renni said they were about 90HP. This was a very labor intensive design that worked I would make sure not to change a single thing.

Hoser is right, they are crazy rev engines. They lightened internals, no charging system Bob Briggs stuff was able to turn 10K,or so I was told. Kinda scary! Lots of different designs, but most were 80-95 HP. How have you been H? Doing a 10 year summer of 6s reunion tour??? Would love to ride with ya again.

Thanks Fully, glad to finally be getting back to some normal life stuff...and back to my passion of buggies!!!

Not hijacking a thing Bob, post away!!! very interesting setup. The dual slot reed stuffer thing reminds me a whole lot of the ESR design. I will find a picture.... The carbs all these guy used is the Mikuni Super BN 44/46mm. I traded the one spare i had to Rusty or may be Chad a few years ago. I have like 5 more but all are on engines so don't wanna give em up. I will post some pics... Also, you still want that HRD pilot clutch?

Imagine if they were 80 HP but turning 10k RPM that's about 2000 more power strokes per minute than the average race Pilot Engine.

Yeah I would like to do another summer of the Six's that was a epic trip will have to see if I can pull it off will depend on work and stuff, life has been really busy almost out of control busy. Weather is breaking here so need to do some maintenance work on the RV before next trip, exhaust manifold gasket leak, install new rear tires, rebuild generator Engine (has like 1800 hrs) OR replace generator with the one out of the Bus project its still like new.

Cant remember the last time I talked to Jerry but its been a while you might shoot him a email see if he is still in the game be nice to see him again, when I talked to him he had both knees replaced and they were botched so he had to have them replaced again, at the time we talked he had one replaced and was waiting to heal before they did the second.
