Found another Craigslist deal in which I couldn't resist so I pulled the trigger on a decent shaped FL400. The only thing thing I see wrong are the brakes...both front and rear are very weak so I'm going to start with bleeding them with fresh fluid.

Very nice.
I check CL everyday and nothing ever comes up in my part of the world.
I never get a deal. Pay top dollar my whole life.

Verify your fuel flow: 4.5oz in 10sec.
Check your tank pickup lines.
Pressure/vacuum test.
Compression test.
Now you know where you are at with this thing.

Based on those pics, they show stone tiles on the roof tops. That tells me somewhere hot. Arizona or California.

Hey once again thanks for the fuel specs, what should the psi be on the compression?
Unfortunately the mods I had planned for the 350 have been put on the back burner since purchasing the 400. But so far I've cleaned out all the rust from the fuel tank, rebuilt the fuel pump, new oem FL250 fuel filter, duel inlet airbox mod. Purchased a new Comet 102c clutch w/cover and new belt. Still panning on a liquid cooled head system, exhaust, carb and intake. Boyesen reeds.
Does anyone know what parts are compatible with Fl350 and FL400?

You can get free pdf manuals for the oddy's here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... HJQTDZIYWs
That site is safe -- no viruses.
Not sure which parts are compatible but I believe the rear brake calipers are. Not 100% sure though.

Awesome looking machine! That's a great deal, out in my area 4500 seems to be the norm. Congrats!

For 3k, looks like it could be a pretty sweet deal. How doesn't run? Details?

Runs great. Just needed a new battery but started fine using the pull start. Except for what Canadian Oddy mentioned(fuel pump, compression and leak down tests) I went through the whole machine and changed all fluids...trans, balancer, coolant and gas. Put in a new freshly oiled air filter and it was ready to ride. However the clutch makes a high pitched whizzing sound as the motors rpm winds down. The belt is within spec but will need to be changed out soon.
Now with the 350 having compatible parts with my CR250...I'm talking reed cage, intake boot and 38mm carb. Will these parts also fit the 400? I suppose I can try and see for myself since I have all three machines.
How about Fox shocks for the rear...does anyone have a good source for puchasing these or have a part#?

Fox shocks wont work on rear unless you have an adapter or know how to make one
