after reading some of that eric goor stuff, i guess that year wasn't quite the torquer the older years were, and it looks like that missing part of the cylinder is a mod for reed stop clearance, but again that thing looks bored out big time, get any ruler with mm and see what it is. did you see the tip for the 97 yz250s? they say the pros used the 94 jug, that might suck cause use 94 jugs might hard to find, but i bet other years fit 94 as well
i think 90 was my last YZ 250 before switching to KTM.
Used to be,a set of reeds, flywheel weight, some bs lights, pipe, suspension, o ring chain, handlebars and gaurds all around and the YZs were very worthy woods machines, when they got it right in early 90s KTMs rode the same right out of the box, set of bark busters and go race.
that's pretty much what I had read too, and I was worried about finding a replacement cylinder. I am not sure of the bore size but the piston has 4SR00 made in japan stamped on it. I am having trouble locating the part number. That year is supposed to have a good mid range powerband, for 400 bucks as long as it can hang with my 96 cr250 I will be happy. I sent pictures out to Eric and I am hoping to hear back from him on Monday. I'll post here what I find out.
