I would not cut anything but maybe drill or grind some rivets that I could easily replace.

If it seems plugged you can try soaking it for starters if you know a local shop that has a big solvent tank.

A car place might have an acid dip tank like they use to clean car heads and blocks but if your pipe is not in good shape it can eat it completely. The dip for a pipe would be VERY short. I would NOT try this if the pipe is not nealry new looking.

Diesel and or kerosene could be flushed thru it and sloshed around. Then keep the fuel in an old jug to use for fire starting outdoor burn pits or the such if you do those kinds of things.

I have heard of people trying all sorts of things like heating the pipe in a fire till tis VERY hot then trying to shake crap out. But you gotta get it HOT. Bolt something to it to handle it safely from a distance.

Try the test to see if you think its plugged first of course!!

Maybe others on here can suggest some things thaty have tried.

I have read somewhere that oven cleaner sprayed in the pipe will help loosen nearly anything in it. If you have never used over cleaner use gloves and a mask and do it ways from anything you care about. Fizzy spray from it will ruin a cars paint job PRONTO. If you are ever cleaning and oven and get in on linoleum flooring it will make huge spots where it burns into the linoleum. Nasty mean stuff.

What did the "grease" that came out look like? was it thick at all or runny or??

it was runny. black. spat out the back muffler while it was running a bit and then dripped off the end of the pipe.

If you happen to have one of those automotive test gauges that reads low pressure (mine reads vaccum and up to about 10 psi and no more) I would wrap it in the rag I mentioned above with an aircompressor nozzle and hit the pipe intake hole with it. If it builds more than a pound or two its plugged and will need to be cleaned out.

If you shake the pipe can you hear anything in it? Mice like to build nest in them and the nest will make a nice dam.

The somewhat destructive way is to bang it on the cement, or get wide drain cleaner, hook it onto the drill and go wild :-)

Hey guys, im back after a slight laps in efforts to get my Honda Odyssey running again over the past few months. To refresh, the odyssey was running for about 2-3 mins and got up to about 2/3 throttle but then died. However it didn't move forwards. The outer Plate of the clutch on the Engine axle is loose because the bolts that hold it in have "sheared" off. Would this be why it didn't move forward?
