I bought a 94C clutch for a fl350. The offset from the Engine is right. Belt lines up. It evidently was not really from a fl350. The shaft and everything is right except it is set up for a more narrow belt. When in gear and idling it wants to creep forward and the belt is still barely rubbing both clutch faces. I just bought a new 94C for the other 350 and this is the only difference I can see in the two clutches. Is there a way to space out the moveable clutch face on a 94C ?

It seems to shift out ok. Did some people narrow them up on purpose for performance or something?

I wonder if the bushing and bolt can be changed. Maybe they cut the bushing down and used a smaller bolt?? Its been a while since Ive seen the Duster 94c...

Pop the helix off, take the clutch halves apart and space them with an appropriately sized bushing that fits around the secondary shaft, and is made of a softer material than the halves themselves.
Then if there is a spacer or washer or spacer between the bolt and shaft, and can thin that out to make up for the change.

Depending on how much you need to space it, it may or may not noticeable affect clutch engagement.

You can also do what bighead did on one of his fl250's viewtopic.php?f=40&t=9952

Just throwing some ideas out there. Performance use? I don't know of any reason.

I'm going to have to space it a little thanks for the input.

I did find out that Comet sells different spacing kits for the 94C for about any belt width. I haven't disassemble mine yet because I don't have the right tools to get the stem, or shaft out of the fixed clutch plate. It obviously has the wrong spacer in it.
