Have any pictures of the head ?

I havent installed one yet, they send any sort of instructions?
As a rule with anything you bolt together the sealing surfaces
should be smooth and flat and free of burrs, I would also check the
clearance between the top of the piston and head to ensure you have
enough squish clearance, reading through this might help answer some
questions http://pilotodyssey.com/duncanheadhtm.htm

A lot depends on whether your are going to use a pump or not. I heard both work fine but i like the idea of a pump much better than convection, err thremosyphon. I never see over 180* with my set up but i have a water cooled head, cylinder with a pump on my 350.

I use a 12v 1970s -1980s mercedes (the car) heater system pump and then from a "seconds" radiator at my local radiator shop, my rad is overkill but it was cheap, i think it was for a suzuki samuri. Plenty of motorcycle/ATV rads work fine. The mercedes pump can be switched off and will still flow plenty of coolant thru the pump even when off.

Hoser suggestion about the squish is dead on, and not to mention a leak down test to make sure your new set up doesn't run lean from an air leak.

A good rule of thumb about taking advice from various pilot odyssey boards/people is what is their
motovation, many guys on the other boards are there to sell products to make money, this gets even harder when their friends lend advice as well. There is a reason you see no sales or people saying "if you need some shocks drop me an email" around we won't allow it. This board was started due to the fact that many other so called "friends" decided this would be a good way to supplement their income, it really fractured the group between the guys that want to ride, make friends, lend advice and those that want to use the collective knowledge and exposure to profit.

Sorry enough of that any other ???s

why not call the experts you bought the head from. Hillside's number is 707 263 9000. they should be able to tell you all that you need to know.

I cant speak for others but I often take the advice of the seller of a porduct and also seek
out others advice, IMO the more info I can gather the better, not to say I would ignore a sellers
advice or I would take others advice, I would how ever consume all the bits of info I could
find and chew on it for a while, this usually leads to more questions and results in more
data to think about, end results of taking the time to do all this is usually ends up working
to my advantage....

Hare forgot to tell you ebay is a good source for used radiators, the Banshee or gold wing
radiator is usually easy to find.

Iuse thermo siphon for now. I want to get a pump and upgrade.

But, I use a Gold Wing Radiator. It fits very nicely. I only had to cut and extend the fill cap.

And weld mounts to the rear risers.

No not yet. Just a few warm-ups to see if it would move the water. putting a temp Gage on and cleaning up the small stuff and waiting for it to warm up a little. it's still cold here in the high 20's
