Has anyone ever used this system on the FL250? I was wondering how much better power I can expect for this. Right now I have a FL250 with a wiseco piston .001 over, a comet 94c clutch and a performance exhaust. Will this help me with climbing? It climbs good now, but I am looking for awesome here. :-) I hope to move up to a 350 or 400 someday, but alas must wait till the money fairy visits.

thanks.

Tuning the driven clutch would be a better bang for the buck, I don't remember the
cam angle but there is a better one than stock, 31 or 53 degrees maybe? it will
allow your clutch to shift out a little later and makes your ody rip up hills.

The reed cage would be a good mod if you were going to redesign the Engine and
do extensive porting, the reed valve then allows you to get real aggressive with the
port timing.

thanks. I actually have two oddyssey's one is bone stock. Then there is this one with the 94c clutch. It absolutely hauls compared to the other one. I am not sure on the overbore though. We did clock this one at 50mph on asphalt. So it's no slouch. but I would still like to see better accelleration for hills and what not.

Take a close look at your driven clutches, get out the service manual and read how
to service it, you cam make most the tools yourself, most of the 250's I have
worked on the bushing on the moveable shaft is worn down, some will wear
so bad they bind and will not allow the clutch to properly shift out.

The 94c clutch is a good clutch it is pretty much like the power bloc in design,
they make a driven clutch too (think it is called 90D) that works real well on
the 250 if yours is worn out bad, there was a guy selling them on ebay for
the FL350 I am sure he can get them for the 250 also, think his nick was
"sledpartsguy" ?

Shipping costs:US $7.49 don't look like he is trying to stiff people on shipping
either.

If you have a 94c drive then it should also have the 90d driven as they are used together with a 1-1/4" belt. The 90d is adjustable, torque the spring on the rear one another 3rd turn and it will not bog down on hills, If it has a stock pipe on it get an aftermarket one for sure. Like hoser said, the reed is only going to help with very agressive port timing. With a fl250 I would recommend first step comet clutches, then a pipe, then a larger carb. A larger carb is useless with the stock intake. Make a new intake out of some aluminum and use a snowmobile carb flange on it. On the stock 250 cylinder id try a 30-32mm if piped.

ps: do you mean Mossbarger reed valves?
Adding a reed valve to a stock fl250 jug is a waste. The stock porting is very conservative, the ports and passages are way small and the durations very short. The stock motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is tuned already for bottom end power peaking under 5500 rpm. I degreed one once and if i remember right it was like 170 exh, 118 trans, 150 intake. The intake is decieving as the ports are so small it needs more. To take advantage of the reed you have to do alot of port/piston/adding ports mods.

FYI You can shim the stock clutch to work with the 1-1/4" belts how ever for the
money I would buy the new 90D just because of the wear your stock driven
will have.

thank for all the help. The clutches are like brand new. The clutches only have like five hour on tlhem. It has both the driver and driven clutches. The pipe is a homogenized thing that some one actually made. It appears to have a aftermarket pipe, BUT the pipe is welded shut just after the fat part, then a silencer was welded on top. It's louder than stock, and the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) has more power. I actually haven't tried it on hills really yet. I am planning on going down to Silver lake sometime in June. So hopefully......

thanks again.

Well I found out some m0re info on my modified oddy. The cylinder is a cr250 elsinore and head. It's been bored, ported and polished. The bore is currently unknown. Could find it by pulling the head, but then I say let sleeping dogs lie. The info came from my uncle, he is the one who sold them to me, the guy who had it before him is the one who had all the work done, he raced them. Runs awesome. However, the carb intake boot tore the last time out. It has a universal K&N on it, the weight seems to be the problem. I have a replacement, that seems to be smoothed and enlarged. Should help. well that's it. Hooping to go to Silver Lake in Sept.
