Bill, when you used that puller, did you space it out from the hub?Did it put up a real fight?I am haing a hard time getting mine off at the present.

It has been a while, but as I recall it bolts right up flush to the hub. I just bolted it on and tightened up the puller bolt to preload it. (I was careful not to overload the ears because I did not want to bend them and this puller only bolts on to two of them). Then I lubed it up with PB blaster and whacked on the end of the puller with every type of hammer I own. Then when I thought all was lost it popped off of there. PilotHawk is right, they don't come off easy when they are stuck. I will ship this puller out to you Monday. I'm not sure what is causing your interference problem. I just left the disc in there and/or either pushed it out of they way enough to get the puller bolted up. Got any pics of it? Bill..

THANKS FOR THE GENEROUS OFFER BILL but After some chat in the chat room, I was advised by Hoser to make a plate and attach it to the brake hub-I then took a 3/4 inch piece of pipe and went through the trans till it hit the piece of plate I had attached. After a good soaking with PB BLASTER and a good couple hit with a baby sledge-it popped right off-good thing too cause the seal was totally shot. The plate looked exactly like YOURS pictured above but without the puller attached to it.Thanks again guys!!

Yeah, seems like I had to stick a socket or something over the hole so the puller bolt had something to push against. I think I did it that way to try and not side load the bearings in the tranny. The puller pulls against the brake hub using the final shaft for leverage instead of pulling against any of the bearings. I don't quite remember anymore. A plate and then the pipe through the tranny and a BFH sure seems like an easier way.

It worked for me, and I agree it seemed to put to much pressure on the bearings pulling it-I was very hesitant to pull it and when I tryed it I was worried when I used light impact gun on it and nothing happened.Mabye I loosened it with the impact and then the 3 pound sledge finished her off!!!

Sometimes the best laid plans and good intentions don't work out quite as intended. In that situation the best solution is always the BFH. Gitter done, :-) Bill..
