i've been to the badlands a few times with my 1977 fl250. several months ago i bought a 89 pilot and have not had the time to take it out, just been riding around the yard. the guy i bought it from did a great job at making it look nice. he bought all new plastic, powder coated the wheels, new tires, etc. he did nothing to the mechanical parts of the machine. that was perfect for me as i enjoy rebuilding engines. i plan on going through everything before i take it out for a serious ride. i posted a comment on mikes page about hard starting pilot. atvnut told me to check compression. it was 130 cold and 120 hot. looks like it's time for a rebuild. it run pretty well but i'm sure it could be better.

that good to know that you and are about 100 mile apart. we'll have to get together and maybe you can do some of those hoser mods for me. i understand people send you engines for you to rebuild.

just read you comments on mikes page. good to know 130 is not that bad. i try filling the lione with premix and see what happens. thanks hoser
