I am trying to find out the approximant surface temp for a fl350. If anyone has taken down this type of information with the Engine while doing test or (just for the hell of it). I have read that the exhaust temps reach near 1400 deg. I have read that the melting temp for aluminum is around 1200 deg. I am just wondering about it, I know the head and around the cylinder are not getting that hot but I burned a piston and that is what got me to wondering. I had no sign's of damage to the dome in the head. Call me crazy but just wondering.. Thanks Billy
