Hello I recently bought a pilot with a Paul Turner powerhead on it the compression is 172 .How can I lower that down to a safe level 150 to 165. Should I buy thicker head gasket does anybody know how thick the oem head gasket is? Thank you Mike

Any idea what dome it has my guess would be it has the 47cc dome I would switch to the 49cc dome.

You might contact Speedchaser and see if he has any more 49cc domes or can machine your current dome to 49cc.

A thicker head gasket will also increase your squish clearance.

You can send him a PM and Email memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1062

Hello hoser I don't know the dome size.I was hoping a little thicker than oem gasket would lower it down to 165 even. I don't want to push the Engine of so I'm looking for a fix before I go on holidays with it.I thought I would try different thicknesses of gaskets to see if it would lower it down enough. I am working out of country now and will be coming back with my son for our big fishing and riding holidays . I would like to have a few ideas on how to lower it without machine work as that would require too much down time. I will ask Speedchaser.Thank you Mike
