I'm in the process of reassembling my bottom end after a clutch side crank bearing failure. As I was getting ready to install the new (directly from Honda) crank side bearing, I noticed some slight play in the inner race. Is this normal? I checked the stator side crank bearing and found no play what so ever.

I realize that these bearings are "double press fit" in other words, the bearing is pressed into the case and then the crank is pressed (or pulled in this case) onto the bearing which I guess could make up for some of that extra clearance, but the last thing I want is to install a bad bearing.

Am I taking a chance here?? Any help/advice/opinions would be apreciated.

There is some clearance built into the bearing it is a C3 clearance on the clutch side
I would have to have the bearing in my hand to feel how much "slight play" is.

You have a place that sells bearings close to you where you could take it in
and compare to other bearings?
