There were posts a few weeks back reguarding the trans in the 350 odyssey and how to rebuild it. I have rebuilt yet another case (for a spare)and took some pics for you guys that wanted to know some info on a rebuild.

Attachments:
File comment: The primary shaft should look like this, clean bearing mating surfaces, no scores or pits.

File comment: Both sides of the cases should be cleaned, inspected for cracks, bearings replaced or checked for play vertically and horizontally. Bothsides of the cases should be laped with 600 grit sand paper on a sheet of thick glass.

File comment: Here is the primary shaft assembled. The AB gear and selector gears should be somewhat tight you should not be able to MUTT the gears back and forth to some degree. If you were to measure it should not me more than .005 of an inch.

File comment: New and old seals that are reused should be wiped clean. There is acually a valley in the seals that should be packed with new clear grease or Vaseline. This should be done to lubicate the seal surface so it won't cut groves into the shafts over time.

File comment: This is what the gears look like stacked. Check for function by shifting the fork and tuning the primary shaft. Make sure there are no binds (by having gears backwards and thrust washers in there proper places) FYI Flipped gears will cause DAMAGE.

File comment: The red mark on the right side of the case indicates the oil fill level via the "check oil Level with the oil check bolt" I fill the case to the blue mark, I belive this is about 2.25 quarts. This gear box relies on oil splash for lubricati

File comment: This case was just short of perfect. The final gear still had the mill marks from when it was made as did the rest of the gears.

File comment: When assembling use a light oil sparingly like a 10w or motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) oil. Order is key use Zip ties to keep gear groups and washers together.

Also recommend gasket eliminator to seal the case halfs. Not silicone, RTV. Doesn't hurt ot check backlash of the gears. Should be about .010". Looks like you performed a nice clean job, the way it should be done.
