Anybody know anything about these, seems there is sand stuck between the
moveable face and the shaft, it is stuck I didnt spend any time on it with the
hammers we just installed the spare, Jerry has all the tools to take it apart
but we wonder if you can replace the bushing I assume it is probably damaged.

Attachments:
File comment: Arrow points to the end of the shaft because the clutch is not back shifting all the way, its sticking on the center bushing.

Same thing happened to one of mine .Disassembled it and cleaned it. The bushing was still usable. I`m sure they are replacable. Sand was the cause.

I had this one moving once and could rock or tilt the moveable face on the shaft
having never felt the free play on a known good one or new one I assume there
is a bunch of wear on the bushing and it needs replaced?

Do you know if you can replace the bushing?

That clutch is fully rebuildable. You can buy the kits through parts unlimited, SLP, or erlandson. The moveable face bushing is similar to a woven fiber and very thin. The pucks for the sliders wear quickly and doesn't take much run time to groove the aluminum housing/slider. Rebuild kits are around $60. Look on ebay. You can find lots of take off clutches that are brand new for under $100.

Cool thanks, hear that Drakman, I would take the 100.00 one take off clutch over a rebuilt one...

Maybe this is time for him to switch to a TRA like Lightspeed did?

Hey, the $100 clutches sound great, where do I find one??

That one Tom has is just too expensive to go out and wear out or blow again and again.
