did the elsinore cylinders come with reeds? I have a cylinder on my oddy, but i noticed no reeds in it. Am I missing something or did they never come with it? This was raced at one time, I was told it was all polished and what have you. Just curious.

thanks,

jim

the cr250 cylinder that is a replacement for the fl250 cylinder is a 73/74 elsinore cr250 and it was piston ported ( no reed cage )

Mossbarger Racing make a bolt on reed gage intake for the 73/74 cr250 cylinder.

thank you. That's what I needed to know. Do you suppose the reeds would be the next thing? It's already got a 32mm carb and polishing and some port work from what I understand. It's a blast and fast.

thanks.

order reedcage and specify the carb size like 32-34mm or 36-38mm that way they send the proper intake size $125 (they say this mod can take all the way to a 38mm carb )

aftermarket exhaust

airbox mod to increase the amount of air to the carb

if it is a CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) you need to make sure you reset the timing to only 16 degrees

does it have a watercooled head?

Well as far as the air box, right now all it has is a K&N mounted on the carb with no air box. Does run a prefilter. The exhaust is a nonstock unit, but was homebuilt. Looking into a D&G, not sure though wether or not that is a good pipe for the combo. No water cooled head. I would like to some time down the road. but I think the reeds will be first. Love this thing.

thanks again.

I forgot to ask, how do I tell if its a CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition)? and if it is how do I reset timing. I do have a clymers manual for it.

thanks again,

jim
