http://www.ebay.com/itm/rear-fenders-3- ... f-&vxp=mtr

found this on craigslist and thought they sort of looked like rear fenders for the FL350.

i figured that it might be possible to make custom brackets to make it work?
Give me you thoughts, thanks

The short story... You can make anything work.
I must agree that the cut of those fenders do look very similar to the 350 odyssey, but without measurements or a side by side comparison /matchup.. I don't know if it's worth the gamble or work..
Side panels were the best investment I made to my oddy. The front tires, even with fenders, sling more debris into the cockpit than I really thought possible.

I second this comment.
In my opinion you don't really need the front or rear fenders but you do need the side panels. If you look at the splash line on the side panels after you put them on, you will see that when you turn the front wheels it shoots the crap right at the driver. Its a perfect straight shot right in your chest area. The side panels on an fl350 stop most crap from getting at you. That's probably why the pilot was made with the plastic side skirts. We had (at one time) fenders on our machines but no panels we found that the front didn't stop much and the rears just let stuff fly straight up just like it would with no fender. Side panels are a must. If you are going to ride in the mud your going to get dirty, with or without fenders.

Wait I just thought about this, my Engine is still air cooled,
unlike yours, is their a way to make the side panels fit so they wont block the air and over heat my Engine?

I liked your design but I'm afraid it would block to much air

The Odyssey I got a few months back has them but they only block the front and I found that sand flies in the back too!

I found that out the hard way! :-)

Ill try to get a picture to show you tomorrow.

My side panels stop before my air scopes... Probably gets more air now that it's not being interfered with /turbulance created by the open sides...
Thoughts?

If you have over heating issues the first thing I would try is to run a tank of avgas or race fuel. Just one tank will tell you if it was an octane issue with the fuel you are now running. Its been my experience that a fan will not work. These engines produce tremendous heat fast when things are not right and you will get a poofkaboooom. When in doubt you have to start right at the beginning - pump flow rate - air leaks - fuel octane - compression.
Every man for himself.

So what kind of plastics are the side skirts made of? And how do they secure to buggy?

Mine are made of the plastic stuff you put on a bathroom wall and are held on by the large style tie-wraps. You can also use the "P" clamps as Randman calls them in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17009&start=50
Those "P" clamps are electrical cable clamps you can get at any industrial electrical supplier. They are expensive though for the large ones that we need to go around the oddy pipe.
You can get the plastic at your local hardware store that sells bathroom tiles etc.
How about making some doors ?? Pic below.

I don't need the fenders as long as the side skirts work well. I was breaking in new trails around my back acres last and just covered in grass! So I am going side skirt route as of now, thanks!!
