While home one rainy day with my son, I was looking at adds for sale locally when I found an add for a FL350 for sale for $700. Guy just wanted it gone. Didn't look too bad for the asking price, and I decided to jump on it. Drove out, gave him $$ after looking it over (figured many of the expensive pieces were there, but may need rebuild/repaint), and put it on the trailer. Right now, i'm in the planning stages, but the first thing that stood out to me is the the frame is fubar. I have been going back and forth over seeing if it is fixable, but in my heart I think I will be shopping around locally for a frame while I strip all the other parts off. Not having a lot of experience with frames, thought I would ask for your opinion(s) as well. I've got a few FL250's that I pretty much can take apart/put back together with my eyes closed by now, but this will be my first FL350 project. Going to try to attach some pictures. I figure, at $700, it was a safe buy, even if just for parts at this point.

That looks like a very heavy crash.
You got a good deal in my opinion for $700.
The good news is that the top cage is not crushed, which is what usually happens in a big crash. There are lots of bottom end frames around but no tops. There is a guy here near me just across the border that has piles of bottom end oddy frames. Unfortunately it's not anywhere near you. I would look for a bottom frame and then rebuild.
I wonder if he got hurt in that crash. Looks bad.

If you do decide to part it out then please keep me in mind for the seat and rear shocks -- you can keep the springs LOL.
I would rebuild though.

That does look like a very bad crash!

You will need a new lower frame for sure. Plenty of info on this site for any of your rebuilding needs.

Yeah, was hoping it was fixable, but now just shopping for a frame. Hopefully can find something reasonable and close. Saw a few on ebay, and there is one on the east coast, but people want $700. Frames on the west coast seem to be more affordable. Just have to wait I guess.

Cash talks. Make the guy an offer for a frame. He will never sell just a frame and probably knows it.
I want 1.1 million for my house but know it is only worth 400,000. What somebody wants and what they are gona get is three different things.
So $700 to me means $400. Drop a dime and call them. You have to give someone the opportunity to say "yes" to you.

So, project has been on the back-burner with me trying to get a house ready to sell, but I was stripping parts off when I had some free time to myself. Only have the trans and some odds and ends parts left to get off it, but it looks like buying the new frame was a good idea. Just saw this today. The first pic is that hoop on bottom right behind the seat. Hope to be getting it together soon.
