I screwed to pooch real bad in simply trying to remove the brake arm to replace the front brake cable to master cylinder! I have no idea how to get it out, busted screw top off so bad then ground it down trying to start fresh. What's the market like for these brake arms? I can not find any. Part 15 in the diagram. Thanks Michael

Those screws have a bit of loctite on them. You could heat it up a bit with a lighter and then use a needle nose visegrip to unscrew it.

Oh no not now! Through trial are error, I have broke drill bits and even snapped a spiral extractor bit off inside the screw. I then ground the whole mangled top of the screw off, so it's flush with brake arm currently

Well now you made it difficult on yourself.
Not sure if the screw goes through a slot in the lever arm assy. If it does then you will have to use a hacksaw blade to try to cut it through the slot at the back. I have never taken one out before for so I am not sure.

I have had the same issue removing that piece. I had to drilled mine out completely and ordered a lever/cable mount. It is hard to find just that one part (#15).

You can usually find them around the price of this one:

Thanks very much Curtis!
Let me ask you all this. What if I cut a opening for with wire on the left side of the brake arm?

You shouldn't have to, you can just continue to drill out the screw you already started. At that point the Part #15 will come off the lever. The cable will be removable at that point also.

Cutting the other side won't do anything for you unless you are just trying to remove the cable. You would still have to reinstall a new cable because you cut the existing one. I don't think a new cable would install easily like that.

I guess it's worth a shot, you'll need to buy a new piece anyhow so got nothing to lose.

true about the new cable not to be easily installed either. Best option is to try to remove brake arm. Any tips or tricks to drilling out screw? I can't get drill bits to penetrate as feels like I will be here for a year trying to get through the screw

Sometimes slow and steady wins the race. I don't remember it being that tough though. I would drill a pilot hole first and then with a decent drill bit you should go right through it.

Left hand drill bits are often helpful as you are loosening the bolt as you drill it.

Guess I need to get a solid pilot hole first. I am working on bolt while steering wheel is on 350, so angle and everything is just a little harder
