A machinist friend says he can build me some solid steel crosses and just use a bronze bushing in there. Hasn't anyone tried this already? And if he can what are they worth? I would think too much to bother with cause it will take him all day too make. Around here that's over $1000 in labour.

Edit: last page near the bottom.

When the u-joint blows on an oddy it seems to just damage the cup and the joint where the cup is held. The cross T seems fine. My idea was to make new cups with oil lite bronze bushings inside, but using the original cross T.

I read the link but think my buddy can make a set and see. Should be stronger than any cast one anyway. And wear wise I think they should be good too. Mine is mostly stock so I shouldn't break anything. And if need be make them all with drill rod or something badass he has at the shop anyway. And as far as the cups he said they are the easy part. Just small. And building driveshafts and hydralic stuff is what he does all day so I'll trust him. Whenever they get done I'll post some pics. Won't be for awhile though.
