On my fl350, I am having fuel flow issues only pulling about an ounce or two of fuel in 10 secs. I have the old circle Mikuni pump currently. I have read compression issues can cause fuel pump issues. A friend of mine is going to do a compression test for me. I keep seeing numbers from 100 to 170. What's the acceptable answer from test I need?

Then if compression is good, next step open fuel pump and check it out or just buy a new rectangular one I see as a current day alternative?

Thanks, Michael

I have run an Engine with 110psi compression. That's on the low side for sure. Around 140 to 155psi is real good. I use a the stock head gasket with only one leaf or a .010 copper gasket (hand made). The stock gasket is actually three layers of metal. Take it apart and use the thin one.
As for your fuel pump I would say if you got enough compression that it will run, then you got enough to work the pump. If your only getting "an ounce or two" your ded. I use a mikuni pump from polaris. Part #3085275. They are cheap so why screw around trying to rebuild yours and then it may not work.

And does it have instructions as to in, out, and do I connect the extra hose that is clamped off my existing pump to top outlet?

Why not rebuild the stock pump? The Winderosa kit is 15 bucks and they work just fine.

If you look close at the pic of that pump you will see a "P" on the top nipple. That stands for pulse. You hook your pulse line to that. When you flip the pump over you will see two direction arrows for the other two nipples. The round part behind the one nipple is the "IN" and the other nipple is "OUT" and goes to carb. When in doubt look at the arrows under the pump.
