My FL400 Pilot has been sitting awhile after finally tracking down almost all the parts, but is with a trusted mechanic now that I know personally and won't screw me over. He has looked through all of my parts and noticed that I am in need of a couple of things so he can start working on my in pieces motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? ))/pilot. Part# 07931-ME4000A Honda Shaft Puller Update: Ordered UK Part# 07965-VM00200@ http://www.lingshondaparts.com/lings_pa ... 965VM00200 Part# 07KMF-HE0000A Honda Special Washer Any information on workarounds to the special washer part (specs) to complete the build would be greatly appreciated. Are you sure of that part number ?? Part# 07KMF-HE0000A Honda Special Washer. I tried a search and nothing came up. Where does it go ?? A picture would help. |

Positive on the Part# 07KMF-HE0000A (U.S.A. only), got it from the FL400R Pilot Manual, been looking the past couple days trying to get a picture, alternate part# or specs of any kind. 0 results so far. My mechanic was going to fab something but has nothing to compare to or information to go on. The Manual doesn't even have a picture of it, or a description of what it is for. It shows part# on page 10 and 97 pdf. view or sections 1-7 and 9-5 of book manual. Any info, specs or pics would be great. I'll have to keep looking. Thanks, Matt |

Yeah ok I understand now. Basically it is a tool to press the two crankcase halves together. I thought we were looking for parts not tools. The way I imagine this setup is that the washer must be sitting on the inner race of the bearing and the threaded shaft must be pushing on that washer. If you are pushing on the casing you might crack it. Not really sure what this tooling looks like. Not sure how others do it but you could freeze the bearing in the freezer and install it in the housing. Then when you put the two crankcase halves together I would heat the inner race on that bearing with a propane torch. Everything should fall together. Obviously the crank and bearing on the other side would already be in place at this point (doing it the same way). Looks like a lot of high priced tools to do a basic job. You could do the same job with a pipe, wooden block, hammer, propane torch, skill Edit: The preferred way for me would be to heat the bearings and put them on the crank first. Then I would freeze the crank overnight in the freezer. Everything will just fall together the next day. I doubt you would even have to heat any of the housings. The interference fit is not that great. |

Thanks for the info, I'll let my mechanic know about that. Still waiting on a couple of other tools from partzilla on a shipping delay, should be here next week. The Tools are expensive, but worth it to get the job done right and save a lot of possible aggravation. So I don't mind the cost at this point, just can't wait to get this thing put back together and running after 2 long years! Thanks, Matt |
