Hi all, I'm new to this so please bear with me. I have just bought an 89 FL400. I wonder if anyone can help me or point me in the right direction. I can't find any information on what oil it takes. Crank case oil and gearbox oil. I have just replaces driveshaft oil seals and crank shaft oil seals and now need to find out what oils go in there and how much? I know gearbox oil gets filled through filler until oil is level with filler plug but not sure grade of oil. Same as crank case oil, I can see black screw cap to fill and stamped on casing 0.24l. Is that how much oil you put in there????Can anyone help please?????????

Search this site for a manual. There are links for free downloads here somewhere. Congrats on your new purchase. Good luck and enjoy!

Free pdf Pilot manual download here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... HJQTDZIYWs
I own three FL350's and I run Honda HP4 oil.
I over fill the transmission on oddy's because it is a splash lube system and some bearings don't get any lube unless you are driving so don't rev it in the driveway all day long. I put two quarts in the gearbox.
As for the Pilot counter balance it should be in the manual but I believe it is 1/4 of a quart.

Welcome new guy.
