Finally got to camp last night after a left rear blow out on an 80 psi tire. Not fun fishtailing a trailer. Anyways, got to camp 4 hours later.

Woke up early and did a main jet change. 148 to 122 which is next down from the 145 stock. Put af screw to 1-1/2 and gave it a test run. Geezus, she ran like a raped ape. First time she ran right since I got her. Didnt sound like she was leaning at all, pulled back into camp and the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) didnt seem hot at all. Will monitor.

Wow! Looks like my endeavor to get to the Oregon Dunes with Duneit! LOL I shredded one on my trailer on the freeway and I got real nervous changing it on the side of the road with little or no place to turn off.

By the way, the stock main for the Ody is a 142 not a 145. I only point this out in case someone is doing a search to find the info and comes across this post.

Have too much fun with her this weekend!

Rand

I know. Never really gonna leave. After this fun weekend, I may just keep it. Would really like to get a 4 seater for the whole family. We'll see...

Your never gona get your money out of it.
Most people don't even know what these machines are, they've never even seen one. That's why they never seem to pay more than $2500 - $3000 for one. Yet the fools will spend $15000 or more for a rzr.
The cost to fun factor on an oddy can NOT be beat in my opinion. Even the cost to fun factor on a Pilot can not be beat. The issue with these machines, that were made over 30 years ago, is that some parts are hard to come by. But once you get it running and understand the issues, it's just GAS n GO fun.
Keep it and buy a four seat.

That's 128 oz in ten minutes or 12.8 oz in one minute.

so your saying in 38 mins of hard riding your tank is empty..
i have been on lots of quad rallies around here and they are usually 40 miles and i have to fill up at the half way mark. they are definitely not fuel friendly machines, especially mine with the big carb, pipe, port work and reeds that i am running

yep that's what we get for mileage.
It all depends on how hard you push it. The fuel mileage drops like a stone when you are racing to the top of the mountain. But they get great mileage if you just putt around and look at the steep drops.

Looks real choppy and rough -- your still running the stock rear springs aren't you ??
I suggest you buy a set of #165 - #170 springs for the rear. The ride quality REALLY improves when you do that. Honda made a real boo boo on the rear spring rate and as a result you have NO rear suspension travel. My brother has a set of #155 on his machine. I bought it that way. The previous owner must of figured it out and bought a set of springs. I actually made up a set for the rear of my machine. There is a post with pics somewhere here. The stock Honda rear shocks are fine. Its the spring rate that they got all wrong. Fronts are good.

We've all lost some flexibility. Getting old -- it sucks. The worst part is not being a cool guy anymore.

I'm 220 and in the video, you can actually see the rear shocks compress. What you don;t see is my vertebrae also compressing, lol.
