Post subject:  Alternate motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mounts

So I figured Id post this just for others looking for alternatives to the difficult to find and expensive factory motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mounts. I bought these mounts for a 84 cb700 nighthawk. Hoping i could modify them to work for the Odysseys. But unfortunately there a bit smaller diameter. They looked so promising! I suppose a bushing could be made to allow the use of these. But my intention was to find a quick easy replacement. I will post a picture of the difference later

I did comment in another thread about an alternate Engine mount you could make.
You could use a piece of pipe and wrap innertube around it until it is the correct size. Of coarse you would have to weld a washer the correct size on the end first. As for the washer on the other end you could just contact cement some rubber on that too.
It's just a whole lot easier to cast new mounts with liquid rubber in my opinion. That stuff is very easy to use. You could then make your own intake manifolds as well.

I remember that post. I was hoping to find a cheap and easy alternative

I encourage members to step outside their comfort zone and try attaining new skills.
Making Engine mounts from two part liquid rubber is very easy and rewarding.

Give it up, there is NO CHEAP alternatives most of the time but there is easy and satisfying.
It's fun to learn new skills. You have to love your hobbies or it's over.
Money is always an issue when a hobby is concerned so sometimes it's just not gona happen because of cost, but in this case it is relatively cheap. I paid $127 Canadian for two gallons of the stuff but you can get two pints for a lot cheaper. It is advertised as a one gallon kit but since it is a two part system you actually get two gallons. The two pints would cost you $30 Canadian.

I understand and normally I would probably give it a try. But considering how many more important projects I have brewing at the moment. I want to locate a simple easy replacement. There are many others out there who may not want to spend the time on making there own and would appreciate the option of a alternative. I paid $16 us for these. I believe it was well worth the chance.

Haven't had a chance to measure OEM ones or search site to see if anyone already thought of this but.... Just thinking about mounts and  ... Sway bar bushing application...
