I have looked into the rotary broach. I haven't found them in larger diameters. And I don't believe byou can adjust dimensions very easily. I have a 10" Lewis shaper that hopefully ill get a dividing head and start building these on.

Hummmmmmmmm -- lathe - shaper - dividing head - YouTube certified, yeah right.

Finished up the first stage of machining of the shaft. Now I will move onto the brake rotor hub. And yes I've never had any lessons on machining. Just watching others and many many YouTube videos. And I've been collecting machinery like crazy!

Well if you're self taught then very well done.
I think those who are self taught are many times more skilled than those who are trained. Not always, but often enough. Someone who is self trained is highly motivated because they want to know how. You will find this is the case in any of the mechanical trades.

Hey, Any update on these? have you found an easier way to make this shaft? Would you consider selling one?

Your work is awesome, I can’t believe YouTube was your teacher? Do you do any other type of work similar, or truly you started with a lathe and practiced?

Always amazed by the engineering to keep these machine running, and the continued improvements by lovers of these machines!

Dude, I know it's an old thread, but I had to say that's sooo impressive!! I wish you found a way to produce these...
