I've recently finished a rebuild on a new to me odyssey. One of my last steps was to check the fuel flow rate to the carb and am only getting about 2 ounces in 10 seconds using the electric start. I have all new lines, filter, Honda T, tank looks good, and a new Mikuni square fuel pump. Pulse line is tight and in good condition. My question is, while doing the test with the line off the carb should there be any gas going through the return line to the tank? It seems to me with no pressure built up in the line running to the carb the T shouldn't allow any fuel to recirculate back to the tank. Thoughts?

With the line removed from the carb there should be no back pressure at all so all of the fuel should be dumping from the carb fill line only. If fuel is returning through the "T" valve to the tank in this state, the "T" valve should be replaced.

Thanks for the confirmation!

I don't use the Honda "T".
I make my own check valves using a pipe fitting, a ball bearing and a very small spring.
The spring just prevents the ball from going all the way to the top and plugging the hole. It DOES NOT HOLD THE BALL BEARING DOWN. Everything just floats or moves inside. You have to confirm the spring does not push on the ball bearing by shaking it by hand after it is put together. The weight of the steel ball bearing is what creates the back pressure. IT MUST BE MOUNTED VERTICLE. Both our machines are like that and we have no issues.
Just another option if you don't have a spare "T".

Very clever of you there. I went ahead and ordered another "T" but I'll file this away for possible future use. Thanks
