Hello! Avid FL250 fan, and I have a business license in my state for "Nostalgia Motorsports". I've been looking into the feasability of manufacturing replacement OEM seat pans and seat back assemblies (not tracks or anything, just the seat pieces) for FL250s since they all rust out.

I'm pursuing two avenues, one avenue is steel stamping, but the more likely avenue is a fibreglass replacement, probably something vacuum molded.

Anyway, long story short, I need to gauge how much interest there is in the original seats being reproduced again, so I need to get some numbers from people who would likely by them. Below is a poll, feel free also to respond.

I have been on this site for several years now and there is very very little talk about the FL250.
There are still a few around but they are very rare here. I think anyone that still has an FL250 also owns a FL350 or a Pilot. In my opinion I think you may be wasting your time. If I am wrong someone will soon correct me, but I am sure that I am right. Your poll will be the proof. I would wait about two weeks before you make any decision.
My opinion: don't waste the effort because most will probably get a go cart seat if they really have to and then fab it in.

You should check out the FL250 pages on fb. There are ALOT of guys there with 250’s and you would probably get more interest. I know of at least 3 pages where the majority of questions are FL250 related. Most are grouped in with the 350/400 odyssey/pilots.

Would your repo include the springs in the seat, or just the pan?

When I rebuilt my FL250, which led to the purchase of a pilot and then a second pilot, I believe I bought the last bottom seat pan Honda had. I took in apart and painted the pan with the idea of giving it a better coat than what Honda put on them.

I bet you could sell some, but price will be the biggest factor. Most fl250s I see are hacked up and put together to ride. The owners don't seem to worry about making it original. Although I tried to keep mine as original as possible. Gotta love the 1977 model points and all.

Now that's interesting.
I didn't know they came with a suspended seat.
We learn something new every day.
Did you tank any pictures of that by the way ?? I would sure like to see that.
