I am either going to compress air into pulse line off fuel pump or spark plug hole...I have read posts one not clear...YouTube says piston all the way down so pressurized crankcase... Some say top dead center...

Where should piston be when pressurizing Engine?

Bottom.
Your intake and exhaust ports must be exposed.
That's why you need a block off plate for exhaust and a plug for the intake.
I use the block off plate on the exhaust to hook up a gauge and to add air.

CAUTION: if you use more than 10 psi you WILL blow your seals out. Most use 7 psi. I use ten MAX.

If the piston is in the up position you won't know if you have a leak on the head gasket. Also you will think you have an air leak (false positive) as the air you pumped in will slowly leak past the rings and into the combustion area and slowly push piston down. You keep adding air and your gauge keeps dropping as this is going on. Piston must be down position to check all gaskets and seals.

Four strokes are in the UP position to check for valve leakage.
