It don't look like a Hillside, leckich, Rands, BV, or Bob Goodenough head.
The "cooling fins" cut into the side of it throw me off the trail.
I give up -- anyone else ??

I have never seen that exact FL350 head either. It does remind me of one of the AftershotMotorSpurts models though.

As far as a radiator, I would use a Banshee radiator. It has a vertical configuration if you want to use it in thermosiphon mode and it fits in the cage nicely. You can get brand spanking new heavy duty Banshee radiators for a fair price of around 70 bucks.

As far as fan or no fan, I have ran them in both configurations.

If you plan on running at low speeds or mounting the radiator in an area that will have a restricted air flow, run the fan and a thermostat. I had a thermostat on mine and I think it came on just a couple of times. I wound up changing the fan to an on demand switch. This works nice if you want to cool the top end down quickly after a hard run without the Engine running.

As far as pump or no pump, I have ran both ways and here is my take on each.....

Pump mode:

Pros: It does make it nice to be able to circulate the water quickly for a fast cool down.
Cons: Unless you install a thermostat into the system, a pump will circulate the water continuously which make warm up time a bit slow. You could configure the pump on a manual switch but there is the chance of forgetting to turn it on. There is also the chance of pump and or switch failure.

Thermosiphon Mode:

Pros: No moving parts and fast warm up of the head.
Cons: The water circulates slowly which will make cooling response time much slower.

I second Randman's comments.

The only thing I would like to add is that my brother and I both noticed that the oddys run better the colder they are. Our machines run at 120'F because we run a car radiator (Honda civic). When I placed a piece of cardboard in front of the rad to bring up the temps you could feel the power loss. So we run them at 120'F. No issues yet.

You live in a desert type environment so my call is run a pump. Randman lives in the desert too so I can't argue with his reasoning. Pump is just my bias. I don't trust that thermo syphon idea. After all -- how FN hot does it have to get to finally move some water ??

Fan on a switch because of where you live and ride, would be my bias.

Yes, I ran an overflow bottle.

There have been two that I tried. One was from a banshee and the other was from a Polaris Outlaw 500.

Here is one of my Outlaw bottle setups.

First off, my temps on average were approximately 140 to 150 deg F.

My first setup with the Yamaha YFZ Radiator was set to 180 F/185 F on and off and it rarely came on.

On my banshee radiator setup I never used a thermostat. I simply monitored the temps using a Trail Tech Vapor and then put the fan on a toggle switch. I used the manual toggle switch quite often if I new I was going to stop for a few to let it cool down.

A lot of it is going to do with how hard you're going to push the Ody.

Personally, I would have shot for 165 F on 170 F off.

Polaris 2 stroke watercraft use a 140* thermostat. i think I read somewhere 2 strokes run most efficient at 143*
