This is not an Odyssey question although I believe all of you can help. I recently took the Engine out of my Yamaha Blaster to repair an oil leak between the cases. The top end has about 6 hours on it. Will I need to hone the cylinder? Thank you for your advice. Someone on the Yamaha Blaster forum said to use plenty of 2 stroke oil in the cylinder and it will be fine. Is that valid? I trust the members here a lot more than the ones over there.

Those pictures are really crappy but at the end of the day the "real" info on weather or not you need to hone your cylinder or re-bore will be your clearance and your compression. What are they ??
If it is still good (clearance AND compression) then I would just lightly hone it and put it back together. Just my opinion on this one.

Both clearance and compression are fine according to the shop manual. Okay, thank you for your help.

Can you catch your finger nail on any of the score marks? Hone it clean then take your piston to bore measurements. If you cannot hone it clean then it needs a bore and larger piston. If its out of spec then you'll need a larger piston and bore. Post a picture of your piston skirt for more diagnosis of issues.
