Yup I'll get a gasket kit and break it open.

Thanks everyone, stay tuned!

Got my Engine back from CW Racing today. Such a top notch job as always and such a fantastic source of knowledge.

Next few days will hopefully have it running!

WOW! You’ll be so glad you did the rebuild. That bore looks mighty nice! 83.5mm? It is this a cr500 kit now? I see the 3mm spacer plate; thought that might be the 500 conversion?

Now you need a pwk39-41 or Lectron 41+carb. Definitely ditch the PJ.

So this Engine had quite a history.

Long story short, the previous owner had the cylinder re-sleeved but they didn't do a great job. Ports weren't matched, the sleeve didn't line up with the top of the cyl, etc. CW fixed all the issues for me.

Chris at CW said this was a stage 3 kit originally which means it was heavily ported for high RPM. Chris set this Engine up for me to be less race and more reliable. It is on a 400 bore.

I ended up buying a PWK Air Striker 38, should be here by Saturday. Can't wait!

That’s a good carb. I’m tuning a pwk 39 now.

Why did cw use a spacer if it’s stock bore?

From what I understood, it was to compensate for the decking that needed to be done to help match the sleeve to the cyl.

I got the Engine back in the machine, just waiting on a carb now.

Question-- I see no reason why I can't do this but I'm going to ask anyways. Can I simply plug the old carb warmer lines instead of having them run from head to radiator? It seems like there's no negative ramifications if I do.

It lives!

I ended up with a PWK 38 Air Striker, but it haven't ordered jets yet. I did a few heat cycles on it, then I fired it up and it idles and runs great till mid throttle then falls on its face. I have not tested fuel pump flow. Will do that next.
