I'm new to odyssey's but not new to working on stuff. Bought this odyssey off the original owner and the axle is broke. How does it come off? Photo attached

It has splines on it and slides on secured with two bolts in slot. Remove bolts should slide off unless rusted / frozen.

After removing the two bolts (which you already did) it should simply slide off the splined stub shaft.

Yours appears to be rusted on, you will have to break it free or simply cut it off making sure not to hit the stub.

Good Luck

Looks like the stub has been hit with the cut off wheel already.

Take your time and keep working at it. Resist the urge to beat the hell out of it.

Parts are hard to get and expensive. Patience grasshopper - Patience!

Did the shock come apart during the break?

Search this site for Shock saver.

Looks like it is time for new seals and fresh fluid in that gear box. I always like to clean things up before I take them apart. Ant seize is your friend!

34 year plus old machine you are working on. Things tend to want to stay in place after that many years.

Too late. I was already beating the hell out of it. I already have 2 other axles. Shock is fine. Hasn't ran in 6 years.

It looks like the stub has a centering divot, I'd check at your local auto parts / tool rental locations to see if they have anything like a hub tamer. Something you can grab the rear of the broken bit with, and push against the centering divot via a screw. Something like this, assuming the ears can get behind the bit of axle clinging like a dingle berry.
