SORRY!
Maybe too many cold ones from lake?????

The cold ones will do that to ya LOL.
The seat of the pants also tells me that my brothers machine has got to be more than 1 sec faster in the 1/4 mile.

CO: Question
Hey adnoh I was just looking at that last chart you posted.
Something doesn't look right to me.
Take a look at the 1/8 mile and the 1/4 mile lines of Ralph's machine and CO machine.

My brothers machine shows 64 mph and 20.63 ft/sec
Mine shows 59 mph and 22.37 ft/sec

This site is real slow now a days so you might be waiting a few weeks for a reply LOL.
I won't even try to take a shot at why. All I know is it don't seem square.

Were solving: corrected MPH for a given time (ET)

So if we take the fixed 1257 for all three than divide each ET into it, you will get the number that look right to your way of thinking.

Ralf: 1257/13.28=94.65 feet per sec.
CO: 1257/14.49=86.479 feet per sec.
DM-1: same as CO

Now this shows Ralf to travel future per sec. So Ralf is quicker over all.

Now what if we plot this in an X and Y graph. We have two linear lines and the graph will only show Ralf is faster all the way there at a fixed rate and CO and DM-1 is the same.

Ask your self is this what happened???

Once we agree on a set value(s) on the numbers we can move forward. I have to have a way to input everyone data to given set points to get information other than 1/4 trap speed.

Maybe should not have labeled the cell reference(I can hide it) the way I did as it leads to confusion. Just like to show the hacker math.

That leads us to where I hope were going, see pic.

Its very important your understand as your info is the base line.
I can back up and try to explain the best I can or maybe some one else jump in and help. Your dealing with 9th grade math skills here. A lot of what I come up with is based off my Electrical Training over the years. like 746 watts = 1 HP.
Hell that's not even really true any more once you factor in other items.

OOPS!!!! starting to babble

Just pic what ever set values you feel will work "correctly".
No funny numbers because of cold ones LOL.
I got the info I originally wanted. I wanted to know if that homemade cylinder head was junk or not. Also wanted to know the 0-60 time of an oddy. Anything else is gravy.

I think this is what your after.
I added the cells is case you want o build one for fun or anyone for that matter.
Enjoy your pics

If some can do the same in way of mph and seconds I can add.
Co verses ?

Cool.
How about one for:
1) FT and MPH ?
2) FT and time ?

Hear ya go for Feet/MPH

I need data for FT Time. The data must have a constant in footage. tThe other are the variables.

Just one more comment on this topic.
I forgot to add the calculated rpm at top speed.
The death machine and my machine reached 59 mph. That works out to 8500 rpm.
My brothers machine reached 64 mph. That works out to 9200 rpm.

I have reached 62.4 mph in my machine based on a gps unit.
So a basically stock oddy (pipe & carb) ain't pulling more than 8850 rpm tops.

A worked Engine will pull 9200 rpm plus.

Going to bring this old thread back to life one more time.
I just did a speed vs rpm chart for an oddy.
This is for stock size tires running between 5 psi and 7 psi.
Your tire size changes a bit based on the amount of air pressure (I've already done a thread on that) but most of us run these pressures.
The oddy cvt drive runs from 2 to 1 down to 1 to 1 (did that in the dyno thread) and the gearbox is a 10 to 1 reduction.
Below is the chart and you can clearly see that a basically stock oddy Engine will run about 62 mph and a built Engine can run to about 70 mph tops.

I am probably wrong but not buying that, my CVT doesn't engage until about 4500 rpm and maxis out at around 7800 but keeps going faster and faster depending on where the CVT is at, your numbers are probably correct got a fully engaged CVT package.

You are correct.
But this chart shows what your speed is if the CVT was at the 1 to 1 top end ratio.
It shows what your max speed can be based on mathematics and your CVT at 1 to 1.
This is all the oddy can do based on math.
The reason I posted this was because I seen an ad where the guy was claiming his machine would do quote: "70 mph no problem". LMAO. It was a total piece of shyte based on the pics in that ad and the Engine was stock LOL.
A stock oddy Engine will pull to 9000 tops with a pipe, carb and AVGAS. A built Engine 10000 plus.
In other words, only a built Engine can do 70 mph.

I was curious how my FLankenstein250 with the 713cc V-twin would do on acceleration runs. The only paved road I have near me is a two-lane highway which is flat and straight but because of that, people regularly exceed the 55mph speed limit. Also the shoulder is also not very wide and there's drop-offs on both sides. Therefore I deem it too dangerous to futz around trying to do a timed run there. Thus I have to do it in the back yard where I only have about 150 feet of uneven ground before I have to jam on the brakes to avoid plowing into a hedge row. To see where I did my runs, watch this vid https://youtube.com/shorts/5GlX9fTA018

So unfortunately I can only stay in the throttle for a couple seconds. Based on the gearing and tires I calculate this thing will max out between 45 and 50mph (plenty fast in my book).

I would love to see some data on that.
The reason I say this is because in the past, a long time ago, there was a long discussion on this because someone was going to do a polaris 500HO swap. I won't go into detail because its a long story but no real info came out of that.
May I suggest you do a run on that highway late at night.
Just a thought.
