Nice work CO, as usual!! Looking forward to a ride report on it.
Well I got back from the test ride.
Failure !!LMAO though. I went about 1.5km up the Sowaqua road and I felt a sudden drop in power and like the rear brakes came on. I knew right away and pulled over.
When I got out to check the transmission it was not running hot but I saw smoke coming out of the filler plug breather. It was like an Indian at a pow wow sending smoke signals to the other tribes. It was funny actually, little rings of smoke.
Luckily it went into neutral. I coasted it all the way back to the truck. The roads around here a steep. I made it to within 100 ft of the truck. I thought I would try to start it up and drive it onto the trailer and was successful. It ran but it did not sound good.
At this point I'm loving it because now I will know what it is when I take it apart.
My best guess is that the full compliment needle bearing piled up. I say that because when I pushed the buggy into the shop I could here the tell tail sign of two gears out of mesh.
I know for a fact it's not any other bearing because it coasted for 1.5 km with no issues.
I'll report either late tonight or tomorrow when it will be out of the machine and apart.
