No matter how you slice or dice it no matter where the info came from vendor or his own senseless babble buyer beware.

Ebay Item number: 4620831638

Here is the hype crapola 'our buddy' is spewing on ebay trying to 'troll for a sale'

"The Moto Tassinari VForce3 reed valve system is the number one choice of the Factory teams. Currently more Factory race teams depend on Moto Tasinari's reed valve technology than all the other brands combined. "

Who cares factory teams have a unlimited expense account, ask him how much replacement petals are last I looked they were 55 bux

"By doubling the reed tip surface the petals now only need to open half as far to have the same flow as a stock style cage. This is a significant advantage when you factor in that a reed petal opens and closes 133 times per second at 8,000 rpm. The petals are only traveling half the distance of a stock style cage, so now fatigue to the petal has been greatly reduced, increasing petal life. This design also enables the valve to drastically improve the entire powerband with a significant boost in the bottom and mid. Instant throttle response is an understatement! The petals now sit on a radius surface to create a "pre-loading" effect that improves an already snappy acceleration. "

Having watched these reed cages from day one the reed petal life is about 1/2 OEM and boyseen replacement reeds that open 2x more than stock, I have run stock and boyseen for 3 long seasons and just flip the petals over after about 1-1/2 seasons never have I seen one break chip or split.

I would say that set of reeds have close to if not more than 100hrs on them. That the first time them have been out since the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) was rebuilt.
Safe to say, I will not be putting them back in my motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )). I will be ordering a new set from Hillside with my motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) rebuild parts list.

I have had good luck with the Honda reed cages I have modded a few with good results the most noticeable increases by seat of the pants was throttle response I played with stuffer designs to reduce the inside volume to that of slightly smaller than my 39mm carb to keep velocity up from the inlet side of the carb past the reeds,, stuffing the cage like that maintains a strong carb signal sometimes so strong I have had to reduce the main jet, others have eluded I reduced air flow that's why my jetting was getting richer, then again they always seem to be seated in a slower Pilot than mine so I tend to disagree with them.

"more flow more go" LMAO ok if they say so, you cant change physics when the air fuel leaves the carb and dumps into a large cross section like the "more flow more go" design you loose velocity and air speed, with cylinder scavenging and cylinder filling times down to milliseconds on a 2 cycle Engine I would not want to waste any in a large cavity like they offer.

From what I have seen on the Pilot Engine going from the worst to the best reed cage setup is measured in inches in a drag race so my best advice is go for reliability and durability then cost.

The stock 6 petal Honda cage is ok the 90 Pilot 4 petal cage is better, the Honda 88 CR250R (part number 14100-KS7-831) is like the 90 Pilot cage only with a better stuffer design, the sides of the stuffer extend further into the cage than the 90 Pilot, the reed petals (single stage) are better than after market, see attached pic.

The FMF cage for the 90 Pilot has an even better stuffer than the 88 CR250 but cost more so I don't see the advantage in buying one other than the cool FMF sticker you will get for the extra 40 bux.

"Maybe Litespeed will share his thoughts"

I freaking hate them!

Next time I will just run with out my air cleaner in the sand when I want to screw my Engine up!

Or drop a shard of carbon fiber down the intake, why ((Bad Word)) foot around?

Well just DAM!

"discontinued" is typical on the Service Honda site if that's where you went, try calling them or Hillside and have them order it, if computer says "discontinued" tell them to order it anyways...

Damn your fast....

Yea I knew that but all three of my parts locators listed it as discontinued so I figured it was - They are usually not all wrong....

Anyhow Hillside ordered it current cost with GGD is $66.35

I'll see if it shows up...

PS
Yesterday I recieved an order from Hillside over 33 different items that listed out for over $250 thru Service Honda
Hillside beat there prices on every last item. Average savings over Service Honda was 8.5% Shipping was only $13
No mistakes and it all showed up in 12 days - KUDOS TO HILLSIDE
