That time of year again getting ready for a week away with the Oddy.

Last ride 2 months ago a quick squirt out the back of town. And the last big ride
the oddys idle was playing up. Pressure test while I was away No problem but still idle
problem and it went like it was on rockets fuel ( not that Hasgas stuff ).

3 days ago pressure test to 6psi and only lasted 5 mins to 0 psi

The Clutch side was done 3 years ago double lipped and outer and I have never had the Coil side
apart so I pulled the starter, Mag and Stater. pumped up the pressure tester to 4 psi and the seal popped
across the garage. The seal just about pushed in by hand so it was toast. the only thing that was keeping it
in was the stater plate.

pressured tested this arvo 6 Psi for 20min that was good enough re fitted motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) hope to fire up mid week.

I have to say I never seen that on. "Seal squirt across the garage". That had to be one of those moments where you say did that just happen. You sure it was 6 and not 60 psi.
Before you install new crank seal check crank surface and smooth up or polish a bit and check the case area where the seal sits. If a little loose than your liking then use a sealer on the seal to case.

After pulling there stater you could see it was ready to fall out
Yes at just on 6psi across the shed with a little pop mined you.

Clean and re fitted and tried to get to 6psi it was a no go couldn't get to
2psi leaking like a sieve. And yes clean the seal seat and the crank.

Fitting the new seal was good "nice and tight". Had the knockometer working with a custom
seal punch.

I usually clean well and then threebond 1211 the seal outer, while using asm lube or 2-stroke oil straight on the seal’s spring and inner lips.

I was just kidding about the 60.
Bummer about it still leaking. Good thing is your going to find it. I'm with zero on oil the seal and I'm sure you do. Time to get out the soapy water.
