One of my rear hubs on my drakart has two grooves. Rebuilding the gear box new seals bearings ect and found two grooves on my disc brake side hub. The one that was leaking I might add.
I've used shaft sleeves to repair harmonic balances before and even considered repairing my leaking hub seal with them even before I knew one was grooved.

So a hub shaft sleeve will run me about 45$,I'm not cheap but I am thrifty.

What if I put a washer inside the hub to move it out just a tad so the seals are riding on a new area?
The sleeve that fits these hubs are a SKF 99824 in case anyone wants to sleeve there hubs untill they get around to changing the seals. The sleeve takes up the little space from having worn seals.
Please give me some input on this people.
Thanks Edd

I never liked speedi sleeves. They work for a short time but when the new seal finally wears through a bit, the sleeve will shred the new seal completely. It's like a razor.
Could you try to build up the worn area with brazing rod and turn it down on the lathe ??
Do you have a lathe ?? If not then I don't see why the washer idea won't work.

I love posting pics. Makes things so much easier. I posted a ton when I had my iPhone but got it saoked out riding one day and I was downgraded to my wife's old Galaxy phone and I can't get the pics to load right. It just uploads blank black screen.
I have a wood lathe. Lol. Had a metal one almost but that's another story. I bought one t resell and had it for about 3 months. Told the wife if we still had it at thanksgiving I was gonna keep it and she sold it two days before thanksgiving.
I have a small mill.
Personally I've never had any issues with sleeves but I like the washer idea better also.
Got the gear case on the ground, got to clean it before I split it.
Thank you for the input. Appreciate it.
