Thanks again, you guys rock.

UPDATE:
added a few new ground wires and already showing signs of better performance.
Now she starts right up first little bump of the starter, cold start no choke, almost as if she is waiting and very willing.

Added a few pics so you can see I over did it.
Better safe than sorry.
As you can see I have a small ground wire from clipped to a fin on the head and grounded to the clutch cover. Yes I scrapped/sanded to bear shiny metal. Added the bigger ground (same size wire as starter) to the frame. Again to shiny metal. I did find the green wire. It was tucked between the clutch cover and Engine, was not bolted. Kicking myself for not following my gut, just knew the guys who rebuilt the Engine forgot that wire.
Again thanks Adnoh and Canadian oddy.
BTW CO I did change the plug and coil just to be safe.
Pics for you enjoyment.

Next up, putting it all back together and terrorizing the neighborhood, I bet they miss me.

Final update:
Got her all back together and she screams again. I even got 3 mph faster in the same distance as my last speed run before all this mess. Yep, 64 mph and climbing. Taking her to the atv parks this weekend and letting her rip.
65 mph here I come.
I'm out, Peace..

Well Canadian oddy said to have fun so I sent it.
Just a few jumps and bam.
This kiddies is why you don't forget to tighten down your wheel nut and use a new Carter pin.
Looks like my 4th of July will be working on the buggy..as usual.

It's a good thing this didn't happen at 63 mph.
You would have destroyed the machine and probably something on your body.
I already had a crash at near that speed in my oddy and I got a helicopter ride to the trauma center, broke my back (L1) and spent 8 days there. It's all fun until you end up in the hospital.
These buggies are NOT toys and they do highway speeds.
Everything must be gone over before you go for a ride. You will spend lots of time monkey wrenching on these machines because they're almost 40 yrs old now. Every time I see a post with a new guy who just bought a machine, they think all they have to do is put gas in it and clean the sparkplug. Nope, that's not how it works. You pretty much have to strip these to the frame and start over. Then you know you got a reliable machine.
CO

Important edit: Did you check the rod ends on the steering column ? Just asking.

Find better springs for the exhaust, best would be to see if you can get the factory springs

Check the metal expansion ring on the exhaust manifold if badly worn it will allow the exhaust to leak.

CO:
Excuse my late reply.
This accident was my fault. I did go through everything when I got the buggy. I had changed that rear hub and forgot to fold over the Carter pin, so it just vibrated out and the nut backed out. Thankfully, No damage to the threads, just down time waiting on a castle nut and pin to be shipped. I've since got her back to running and terrorizing the neighborhood. Lmao, Even found a rolling fl250 to throw my 800cc rotax in. Yeah, I know what you thinking, this guy has a death wish and will never learn. But I'm having fun.

Edit Just wanted to clarify, I did go threw everything when I got the buggy, I've changed the front shock bushings, left rear hub (old hub had wrong lug bolts welded in), replaced hub and hub bolts with proper honda oddy parts. Added new breather tube. New starter. New front and rear brake pads. Flushed and bled front and rear brakes. New rear tires. All else looks to be in good condition with very minimal ware. The guy I bought it from was in the process of replacing/rebuilding to factory specs.
In short CO, I have gone threw it very carefully long before I drove it.

The new project.
Fl250 to FL800?
I have an 800cc rotax V-twin 4 stroke with EFI
and a racing clutch, set up for "instant" take off.
Out of a racing snowmobile.
Has high and low forward gears and reverse.
Horse power is a little over 130.
Mods = unknown, looks stock.

File comment: The new project, fl250 Engine swap, a 800cc V-twin 4 stroke with EFI, HP = enough to pee yourself and like it.
