Hello everyone,

I am wondering if I could get some advice on the following:

Rear Brake

I have the original brake calliper from this machine. However, It is missing the grommet for the shoe on the one side.

I am wondering if anyone would have any recommendations to switch over to a hydraulic and/or another mechanical brake calliper (aftermarket and/or another power sport vehicle that someone has done a conversion from)?

I am also not sure if this is the original brake rotor. The rough dimensions I got from the one on it were the following:

8.17 mm thick / 0.3215"
OD 39.07 mm / 1.538"
Rotor across 212.13 mm /8.352"

Steering Wheel Controls

I am wondering if anyone has also modified their steering wheel with a light switch, ignition button, etc. I would appreciate some feedback. I have the original plastic cover plate that hides the cables and mechanism as shown in the attached picture, but it is deteriorating substantially!

Clutch

As you can see in the attached pictures, someone along this Odyssey's journey in life has replaced the original 250 2-stroke w/ a belt torque converter to a 4-stroke 420cc Princess Auto Power fist with chain drive (hence the lack of braking system at the moment).

The motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) runs, however it engages at idle i.e. the machine wants to "take-off"! I have a basic understanding on clutches but I would appreciate all feedback and recommendations on either replacing the clutch, plates, what to look for and troubleshooting!

Engine mount support

I am wondering if this should be flush mount should be flush with the original frame?

I realize that this is not an all stock machine but I have always wanted an Odyssey and it is a perfect addition to my ATC!

Welcome new guy.
This site is incredibly slow now as most have moved on.
Answers for anything will be very very slow, if at all.
I'll try to help you out here with these questions you posted.
Someone has really bastersized that machine so I hope you have lots of mechanical skills including welding.
Lets take these one at a time:
1) Rear brake: We have no idea what that previous owner was going to do. In my opinion I would go to a wrecking yard and see if I could use a brake caliper from a small car and then shim the pads. You could use your original caliper if it is usable.
2) Steering controls: You can basically do what ever you want there. It's just wires and crimp connectors. As for a cover you could make one out of sheet metal or a plastic crazy carpet that kids use during the winter for a slide if you had to. Use your imagination.
3) Clutch: This will be the real issue. That centrifugal clutch will most likely not be tuned for your machine which is why it's trying to take off at idle. No idea how you would tune that thing and not sure what kind of clutch will fit on that output shaft. It's going to be a problem for you.
4) Engine mount: The previous owner did what he had to do to mount the Engine and get that chain drive tight. The issue I see is that there is no chain tensioner and when the chain stretches it may fly off constantly. It to will be an issue down the road. You can forget about what "the original set up was".
5) The roll cage: That thing is dangerous and needs to be properly mounted.
I also do not see any seat belts - YOU CAN'T DRIVE IT LIKE THAT.
I also do not see any wrist restraints - You can't drive it like that either.

That thing is going to cost money to get going again.
You have to ask yourself if it's worth it.
Just my opinion.

Not much Odyssey left as far as your questions are concerned. If you are capable of welding, I suggest looking for a live axle kit for a go kart. such as: https://www.gopowersports.com/go-kart-live-axle-kit/ Note: that kit comes with a drum brake, there are a few options to upgrade that to a disk brake. look around on google/youtube.

As for the clutch, since it is running a 420cc Engine, there are many options for that as well, also look on that website and you should be able to find what you are looking for.
