Hello to all,

I recently purchased front/rear aftermarket AMS steel wheels for my Pilot FL400, the fronts were the right offset/bolt pattern (4/110), the rears had the right offset but not the right bolt pattern. I ended up ordering 4/110 bolt pattern for the rear (4/130mm were on a possible year backorder if they ever make them again at all) and figured I would drill the proper bolt pattern (4/130), but I haven't had any luck finding a drill jig template with bolt patterns 4/110 4/130 available. The template would be ideal to bolt down to the rim while drilling the proper bolt pattern so there is no shifting while drilling. Another option would be if anyone has any info on a possible hub swap to 4/110 for the rear on the Pilot FL400 so I don't have to drill? I would prefer the keep it stock/cheaper drilling option, but would consider the hub swap if it was available.

Link to AMS Steel Wheels here:

New rims from this site come with free lug nuts and valve stems.

Thanks,

Matt

Seems like a pretty easy problem to solve.
You buy a spacer 4/110 to 4/130 remove the 4/130 studs and drill through to your wheel. Problem solved.

Thank you for the response, now I can drill my steel wheels to 4/130 bolt pattern, and drill my aluminum one out that I had Tig filled. I lost a couple lug nuts before I knew it and I egged the holes, had to limp out of the woods.

I am going to send all four aluminum rims out for rim repair, once I drill out the 4/130 bolt pattern on the filled aluminum rim, and install the steel wheels. Alot of bends for sure need to be fixed.

Thanks again.

Matt

So, I checked the website you suggested and those adapters come standard with 12mm studs (FL400 use 10mm x 1.25). I called them directly because on their website it states for custom orders and stud sizes you have to call. I was giving them my stud hole measurements and bore diameter (they also asked about vehicle info), and they said that they would not be able to do it because they are difficult measurements and I should call my local machine shop to make a template out of steel. Kind of crazy seeing how this sites lead time for orders is 7-10 days made to order. Making aluminum adapters from scratch, you know they have a CNC machine and lathe at the very least.

Anyway, just wanted to update the post to show this website will not work.

I would drill your new pattern on the virgin part of the wheel.

@Kuma

I will be drilling my 4/130 bolt pattern in the virgin, non filled/welded part of the wheel. Thanks

@go oddy

Thanks, I will check that website today.

I am also waiting on a response from a former co-worker who has a water jet cutter at his business, looking to have a 1/4" steel outer diameter and bore diameter cut to use as bolt pattern template.

So, just got off the phone with this website you suggested above and they can make a dual bolt pattern spacer, with no studs, just through holes. Ordered

Specs for Custom Spacer

4/110 and 4/130 bolt pattern

88.9mm (3.5") center bore diameter

158.75mm (6.25") Outer Diameter

3/4" Spacer Thickness

10mm Through Holes for (10mm x 1.25 Studs)

1 Custom Spacer=$40 plus s+h

Thanks again for the response and helpful info, it's now gonna get the job done. :-)

Matt

*Update on ordered spacer*

Received my order in the mail today, and upon inspection the holes looked way too big. So checked with digital caliper and 4/110mm bolt pattern holes are 12.78mm, and 4/130mm bolt pattern holes are 14.78mm. Way too big to be used as a template for drilling proper bolt pattern holes, which is what I told them when ordering on the phone. Also wanted 10mm through holes only for both bolt patterns, they made the lug nut recesses in the 4/110mm bolt pattern. Could have still done the job if not for the oversized holes throughout. Gonna have to call to them today if they are open, we'll see what they say. Here are the pics:

*Update*

Called them last Monday, August 9, after three calls to them, they apologized for the wrong spacer, shipped out another with the proper bolt patterns and confirmed 10mm through holes before getting off the phone. Received new custom spacer that Friday, and the through holes were drilled anywhere from 10.60-10.73 on all holes when checking with digital caliper. Very inconsistent holes and still too big for proper drilling of rims, so I called them again today Monday, August 16, and they said they couldn't drill 10mm holes because they don't have the bit for it. I'm sure it is just an excuse because of their mistakes, but they would not ship out another spacer, and I am not confident they would be able to get it right a third time anyway. So I am returning the 2 spacers they sent for a full refund, which I had to request. They were always very nice, but could not get the job done.

well that sucks, a company doing this should be able to get the 10mm spot on, just drill slightly undersize and get a 10mm reamer, you would think they had one, if not, get one! a good reamer will cost around $30 can pick up one from Amazon probably less than $10.
