I am picking up my FL350 in a week or so and it needs an Engine and drive belt and pulleys. Just thinking of options and wondered if anyone has ran a water cooled Engine off a dirt bike? Thinking a chain and sprocket set up to run to oddy tranny, any thoughts here? Anyone done it? Thinking the sprocket gearing will be a hurdle to get right... what else?

Blessings,

Mike

I started a raptor 660 build on an FL350 that I turned into a double seater. My thinking was it already had reverse so I wouldn't have to deal with it. Unfortunately I had a small chainsaw accident and sold the buggy before I got to ride it.

Were you running chain drive to tranny? Any pics of it? Sounds cool!

The 660 has a reverse built in the tranny. The only part of the Honda tranny I used was the main shaft, it made it easy to use the stock axles. I just mounted the main shaft with a couple bearings and mounted a sprocket to the main shaft.

I posted pictures here years ago, but have since deleted them from my computer, so the links likely don't work any more.
