the clutch on my fl250 makes a little noise when engaging then goes away once it starts moving? it drives fine it just makes a little noise at first then goes away

I would disassemble and inspect the drive clutch my guess without being able to see it my self is something is worn or loose inside, before the clutch engages their is no tension on these parts soon as the RPMs increase enough to start moving the Ody then the tension reduces the noise, it worth taking it apart to see whats going on, the clutch is talking to you (making noise) I would take advantage of this notice, as Bill.. has stated before in other threads when the 250 clutch comes apart while running its not pretty.

have not had a chance to do anything yet i am booked for the next few months working boat shows. this is my wifes machine and she is getting ready to have a baby in may so i am in no rush. she actually asked me to sell it. we will see thanks for the input i do appreciate it.
