Have an ody 350 I can pull start, but that is getting old) when i hit electric start only get clicking sound. Sounds like it is coming from the round thing(starter relay i think) above the battery. Once in a great while the starter will try and engage but very rare if at all. Was wondering what you think might be wrong? do i need new or rebuilt starter or ? . Am not very mechanically inclined but am willing to try or learn) Have honda shop manual do i really have to take gas tank, wheel, pulley, belt, disc brake, caliper off just to get to starter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Eug

Sounds like a weak battery or a bad starter. I have used jumper cables and a car battery to crank the starter before with no damage to the starter, just to test the starter. If it still will not crank fast or at all, you will need to pull the starter and rebuild it. Its probably full of oil too(just a guess).
