I decided to go a different way when doing the pre filter on this Pilot, instead of using two 2" hoses i used one 4" schedule 20 pvc 22.5 degree fitting with a 4" KN cone filter and outerwear cover.

Looks good. Let us know how it works out. I was thinking along those line for my 350, you would think it would create the same airflow. Some of the air box mods I have seen though place each intake at opposite corners of the box, I was wondering if that could possibly create a circular air motion inside the box like a tornado an boost HP a bit.

I also got some 4" plugs for shipping tubes and made a few restrictors that i could throw in real easy to choke the Engine some if i need to fatten it up, i made a 3", 2 1/2", and a 2" one.

my Buddy drills a bunch of pin holes in the lid of the filter oil to make it easier to oil the filter when i went to squirt it on the filter the cap fell off and soaked the filter i have never done it this way i always use a bag, so i know the filter is oiled well probably to much.

we have this on 7 Pilots now and have run it in all conditions Muddy GNCC race, dusty GNCC race, Glamis and various other places all with good results, I have not had to use a restrictor yet once the jetting was set it seems to be fine. I will look up the part numbers for you.

One other question is how did you fasten the pvc. it looks like a bead of silicone on the inside of the lid?

the devcon putty, is that an insulator putty? I am an Electrician and we don't use it, but we have all trades on site, and i wouldn't doubt it if there is some there. I am thinking PVC Primer then PVC glue? Let me know what trade uses this stuff, and I am sure I can find it. If I could sneek the machine past security I could have a field day, Air plumbers could redo brake lines with stainless, Tons of metal and welders to do a skid plate, etc. The boys had a field day welding on my muffler brackets, and I am taking my airbox lid in tommorrow as I found some PVC 22.5 degree elbows. I considered the hoser two hose system, and found all types of electrical fittings which would work awesome, threaded nipples which you could use threaded plugs on cold days. If you want I could post pictures or send you some. Industrial toolcribs are a treasure chest for a cheap dude like me.

The Devcon would be something the mechanical guys would use to make repairs you can drill and tap it, your mechanical maintenance guys would know if you carry it or not.
