Hi, my project pilot coming on nicely, i'm busy now cleaning and painting everything whilst waiting for the frame to come back from the powdercoaters.

my question was is the parking brake cable of an fl350 the same as of the fl400r as i'm unable to get the correct cable, but the fl350 version is still available and that would save me having to make one up.

I have managed to source a great deal of the dis-continued parts that you guys seem to struggle to get via a contact i have here within Honda UK, so if anybody is struggling to source some parts let me know and i will see if its still available here and i'll price it up and ship it out for you.

also what oil ratios are you running is it best to stick to the 20:1 mix, the reason i ask is that the minimum octane rating here is 95ron and modern oils are so much better than what was available when the Pilot was built.
I would be using Castrol TTS synthetic as i have loads of it for my racing hovercrafts, any advice appreciated.

Thanks
Simon L

I believe the cables are not the same, the Pilot is a little longer then the 350.I mix 32:1 Amsoil, seems for me to burn better on plug chops, but that's just me.

Randy has an emergency brake cable setup for an FL350 that he is currently selling that I believe is using a Pilot cable. He states that the cable is longer than the 350 and that with the cable set up you have to use the arm from a Pilot.

Contact Randy He is very knowledgeable and will be able to help you out!

Good Luck! Rand

I just ordered the E brake kit from Randy (odyssey salvage)
It is a pilot cable (longer and must be used with pilot hardware) for my 350R
cheap money too

Found a "man that can" here in the UK got myself the cable and a brand new still in the box rear brake caliper so have sorted out all the parts that i need for the project, i have spent a small fortune, but it will as new when i've finished.
I will be posting up the rebuild in the projects section as soon as all the boxes arrive.
