 Post subject: New Pilot Big Bore CR500

I am pretty sure I found the info about CP industries big bore cr500 cylinders on this forum so some of you may know about them. This week I called about one of their cylinders for a customer of mine who wanted to dominate their open class winged go-kart class. Calvin at CP told me he has a pilot there now working on a big bore kit for the FL400.
He didn't give me ton of details but I am assuming he is going as big as the current 500, 560. A cr500 with this cylinder (no stroking) is above 90 hp on race gas.
It will use some kind of stud relocation plate, not sure if any machining besides case boring will be involved, but either way it will be less than the usual conversion. I am getting setup to be a dealer with them through Hillside Honda and I know the cr500 cylinders are about $1000.00

Try to find out whos Pilot it is they are working on and what they are going to do for a pipe.

drive clutch needs modified to clear the 500 jug
starter housing needs modified to clear the bottom of 500 jug intake
doesnt the 500 jug need a fitting installed to operate the fuel pump/pulse line?
what was it with the 500 pistons, you can only run certain pistons cant remember all the details. :shock:

Yup Wiseco only if you widen the exhaust ports, my guess is that will not be a problem on this cylinder since I am sure Calvin will be having pistons made for his new cylinder.

The "Liger" family of cylinders are our largest 2-stroke cylinders to date. We have started with a 95mm bore in this design, and as soon as the new larger pistons are available, we could see bores as large as 106mm from this design. The CR-Liger cylinders are designed to be used with a bolt-on adapter plate to minimize case modifications and still allow the transfer tunnel size to be increased and repositioned for optimum performance increases.

hello everyone i am new here but i wanted to say that calvins is doing that cylender at my request calvin has cast some of the wildest cylenders around we have his product on several of our race quads and they are nothing short of amazing
