Ok ody/pilot fanantics.. finally im ready to start the rig.. like I said before toys has been sitting for a while... so I drained the oil in crank/trans refilled both now about the recall on the crankcase.. pullled plug squirted WD-40 in cylinder.. turn over clutch by hand, no binding/sticking.. so I go to start it last knight, but no fire, pulled plug brown water on plug.. not good, pulled head, brown water on top of piston/cylender wall, but no rust some carbon build up,, what gives is there somewhere water can hide in the crank....when I drained it no water in the oil, left drain plug off for at least 20 minutes.. going to swap out moter with a new one i have on the self..sorry no pics I need to buy a camera..

When you drained the Engine you actually drained the balancer case, 2 cycle engines have no oil in the crankcase the inside of the Engine is lubricated with the oil you mix with the gas.

Hard telling where the water came from can you crank it over with the plug out and blow it out the plug hole?

You think its been setting with water inside the Engine for a while, how much water would you guess was inside the crankcase?

Hoser, thanks for the reply, I thought the oil in the crank-case lubed the crank and bearings..Need to read your post on 2 stroke combustion..

with the plug out and I turn it over its a fine mist that blows out, I could try that for a bit and hope to blow it out..

as for the water im guessing less than a couple tea spoons...

again thanks for the reply..

Hello, fella's I spoke to a mechanic today, and he suggested putting a couple of drops of rubbing achohol down the head, and try to start it.. he said it will dray up any water in the cylinder.. something about the term HYDRO-STATIC he used.. any one ever here of this before..

hydrostatic pressure is the pressure water exerts on its container. personally i would tip the machine upside down and get all of the water out.. running that motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) with water in it will most likely take out a bearing( the water gets in between the bearing and its race, since water does not compress the ball or race take the force).. randy at odyssey salvage.com will tell you it only takes a teaspoon of water to destroy your big end rod bearing.

i would pull the whole motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) apart and make sure there is no rust/water before running it. if you do have a failure you will be in the big dollar range.

i cant see isopropyl alcohol having any substantial effect of the polarity of water..
