Anybody need a pair of hoserized modified tie rods? Put an end to bent tie rods for ever, I hoserized mine in 1995 after all these years use on this design no problems...

35 bux + shipping and exchange for your old tie rods, your old rods need to have
good threads on both ends, bent like shown in the picture is ok

Others out there are running my tie rods perhaps they can give some feed back and thoughts?

I'll take a set. Bring them to the next ride and I'll save the shipping. I'm in no hurry!

I've used them and have been pleased, overall, with their reliability. However, sometimes on hard "lawn dart style" landings they have made contact with the frame. Other than that, they've been great.

I never noticed them making contact with the frame, I will have to take a closer look
, I take it, it is making contact with the upper part of the frame on compression ?
You still have stock shocks on the front or after market?

Yes, upper part of the frame on compression.

Stock shocks are probably the cause...old, weak, etc...

I don't have much time on my set but still they rate a perfect 5 (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) brown eye scale.

This is one mod that everyone can easily install in minutes!

Would you do the same to a pair of 350 tie rods?

I have a set that's bent and could use the help.

I had a local machine shop make up several sets out of 4140 carbon steel(I think, been 3 years or more) for Fed and my 350 odysseys. They charged us about 8 bucks each. Still have not bent anything, knock on wood, yet. Even after the endo! Gary

4140 is some killer good material I wonder what material the orignals were made from?
8 bux each is a steal if they threaded them on both ends for you....

S48C. It's a Japanese spec high carbon steel, about equivalent to AISI 1050.

I tried the hoser mod to a set of 350 tie rods many years ago. I had clearance problems. I don't remember just where. We used pretty thick tubing for the cover tube, so maybe a thinner tube will work. Here's a picture of the tie rod that didn't fit.

Had mine built by hoser several years ago after numerous bent rods. Since installation have not had a problem at all.

Great design!!!!

Design idea credit goes to a friend of mine Don V. I bent one at a race and after
the race he showed me his, I modified mine and never bent one since, never broke anything
either, still using the Honda tie rod ends when they wear out I will buy 4 new ones
from Honda, don't care if they are 30 bux each they have never let me down after
years of hard abuse :-)

Now if I could just get you to make me a bumper that will hold up, I'd be set...but with the bad blood between us, I doubt that will happen anytime soon

Last I checked I could get a 10' chunk of pipe at home depot for about 6 bucks. That would do 6 or 7 tie rods. A few welding rods (maybe a dollars worth for each tie rod). Paint 3.97 a can (plenty for a bunch of tie rods). Time is not worth anything so to mod a tie rod should cost 75 cents for pipe, a dollar for welding rods and say 25 cents for paint. That is 2 bucks per tie rod.

Yep that is why I always encouraged everybody to do their own but some cant weld
others don't have the free time that is why I offer the service. Bet you and Redrider
would have been happy to pay when you were miles from camp with a broken
tie rod because you didnt weld yours.
