Fellas, if you are even thinking of a case split, these might be needed.
Part # 90701-HEO-000 crank case dowel
Item is discontinued from Honda.

Is there any suppliers of dowels we can look into. These bottom end items are all getting impossible to acquire and we really need a group to start investigating options!

Dowels seem like a part that could be reproduced. Anybody look into doing that? Speed maybe?

Go back to the parts page look see what is the description most the time it gives the dimensions of the dowel, the diameter and the length, part number is meaningless if its discontinued what is meaningful is the full description.

I bet they will take your order then call in a couple days and tell you they are discontinued. They probably stock nothing and just order from honda. Their system is just out of date.

Wait as minute I just read your post again - Looks like you are posting a different part number 11-90701-399-000 , but the description is 10x28. Is the part you posted the same as 90701-HEO-000 ?

Yes it is the same Dowel pin but it comes from Honda boat side.If you look around you can find a lot of the discontinued parts.

Great find - How were you able to cross 90701-HEO-000 to 90701-399-000 ? Was it just luck or what ?

Can you locate the left side crank case seals and bearings by chance?

Ya less then $10.00 and shipping ia $1.75 not a bad deal. Why 7 the Engine only uses 2 - so why the odd number?

that's a hell of a web site - if you want to know all the dowels for a fl400 just search for FL400 dowel. It shows you all the diagrams for FL400 that contain dowels. I ordered 2 sets of all dowels for my parts box and I needed to replace a copper gasket I robbed from one of my complete gasket kits. If you click on a part it shows you all the models that use that part.

that's something else you guys may want to buy. The extra orings and gaskets that are not included in the Vesrah fl400 complete gasket kit. The honda oem gasket kits comes with seven orings and the Vesrah only has 3 I beleive. Also Vesrah does not have the 3 copper seals or the aluminum seal. I beleive those are still available from honda. so if you ordered the orings and copper/aluminum gaskets that would get you to about as close to a oem gasket set that you can get.

I ordered a bunch of seals and studs, etc from them, see if I get any emails in regards to discontinued items. Although they did not have the left side seals or bearings I need.

My order has been refunded!
Another case of false advertising.
This would be a good speedchaser project?

Did anyone try and order them from ServiceHonda?

They'll send any Honda part and the number comes up correctly on their site.

From what I know Honda shows them on Back ordered under part# 90701-399-000. Could be this part number will go to discontinued like 90701-HEO-000 did.

I ordered them from both. Powersports refunded my payment for them. I received an email from SERVICE telling me they had been backordered. I have since gotten a UPS tracking number from SERVICE with 2 packages but it does not tell me what part they shipped. I'll let you know if they do indeed come with these dowels in there.

I received these dowels with my last SERVICE HONDA order-even after they told me they were discontinued. I also ordered them through another site that deals with Honda automotive parts they the part numbers come up as available, that order is currently in transit to me. I will let you know but I did get these dowels after all.

I placed a big order of dowels from Service Honda and got about 80 bux worth of dowels and about 250 bux worth of other bearings and seals, never did get the mag side seal but got the far right seal and plenty of the crank side seals I must have double clicked or something I ended up with way too many clutch side seals guess I can sell them sometime in the future lol

Gotta figure out a way to mark or package all these parts, that box that cost over 300 bux setting on my bench looks like something not worth saving and junk to the average person that will be cleaning up after I am dead and gone lol
